Um, while it's true that I integrated Phil Hands' patches into d-i that kind of pales in the face of me designing d-i from the beginning, writing large parts of the intial implentation, and leading the d-i team in its first years and then again for some years around the releases of sarge and etch.

This is all extensively documented online, in a great many mailing list messages, commit messages, announcments of d-i releases, etc, and it's *horrible* to see it twisted around in such a false way on wikipedia.

Here is a good summary of both my work in d-i and its early history, through 2004: http://kitenet.net/~joey/blog/entry/d-i_retrospective/

Oh, and I joined Debian in Augist 1996. It's a matter of public record so I don't know why this page's authors can't get it right and have to drag unrelated free software work from 1995 into the picture --joey
