[edit] corrections

This is a very terrible article, u should all be ashamed.

Joel has only stated "Reuben" as his middle name. On Good Charlotte's old official website, there was a biography survey that the members of the band had filled out themselves. Joel listed his full name as "Joel Reuben Madden." The middle name "Ryan" is an untrue rumor. This website has a copy of that bio: http://groups.msn.com/DCsFinestPunks/joelsbio.msnw Spuddy 17 20:26, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Would it be fair to mention Joel over-coming alcoholism, and drug abuse in 2003 in his article? Or does it seem un-useful to? --Jennie Ambrose 03:56, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] comments

Please only use this discussion page for discussing Joel Madden. Please stop leaving "I want to marry you", or "You are so hott". You are wasting your time for it will just be deleted. Please cooperate. --Jennie Ambrose 04:08, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] relevance

If someone would like to link the page where it talks about Joel's favorite things, please do that instead of posting them here. This is not a fansite, so a huge list of his favorite things really isn't too relevant.

Also, I removed the sentence talking about Joel being "fed up of Duff's prudish ways." First of all, that is speculation, and second of all, that's his personal business, and it serves no relevance to his biography. Spuddy 17 22:38, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Joel

I don't think the rumor about Joel's middle name being Ryan is true. I go with the site. I believe that his middle name IS Reubon. Rumors these days...

I agree with your statement, there is no reliable sources that I've heard that from. I've have even once heard Benji joking about Joel's middle name, which he said Reuben, on a radio interview. If there was Ryan in his name too, Benji would of mentioned it. --Jennie Ambrose 03:56, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] tattoos

As on the Benji Madden page, the description of Joel's tattoos has been removed pending sources and an explanation as to why his tattoos are relevant to an enclyclopedia article. Spuddy 17 22:27, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] STOP

please stop adding stupid comments to this page like: "that is disgusting" or "oh aren't they so cute together under personal life .This will just be deleted, don't waste your time. if i see "he is married" one more time i'm gonna barf. Seriously.Good*charlotte*rox 23:16, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quotes

please stop messing up the quotes section. i recently deleted-- "just put a f****** bullet in my head" .he did not say that.

[edit] Image...

I've added an image to Joel, plus that singer chart. I don't know if it's well done, could somebody please verify that? Thanks! LGFever05LGFever05 00:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life.

Can the comment of him dating Hilary Duff please STOP being removed? Thank you. 200.114.191.152 16:24, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

So long as a reliable citation is provided, there's no reason it should be removed. --Yamla 16:25, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

I know, I added a link to MTV News... don't know how to properly do it anyways. 200.114.191.152 01:06, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

who is Noinin?

According to Life&Style, skeletal-skinny Richie had a series of tests done recently, including blood and urine screenings that confirmed a pregnancy.

In addition, photos surfaced after the Memorial Day long weekend that pictured Richie with what some are betting is a baby bump. No word on whether she lived up to her invite from the same weekend, and “took shots, passed out and woke up with her pants ripped open at the seams.”

Even though reps haven’t confirmed or denied the rumours, on May 30th Richie was photographed at a reproductive clinic, supposedly determined to get healthy for her baby.

Yet another anonymous source claims the baby is definitely former boyfriend Joel Madden’s. Madden broke it off with Richie last month, claiming she was too clingy.

Single and pregnant? I smell another reality show…

[edit] Fight with Chris Wilson...

Is that really relevant to put up in his personal site?

...yea thats what i was thinking Anthonyd3ca 00:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Restraining Order

Should that the restraining order against the "crazed person (people?)" should be mentioned in the article? I think it's plausible.... I want a second opinion though. --Jennie Ambrose 05:35, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]  ????

i'm not sure that this is right, but i didn't want to delete it because i'm new at this stuff...

"He and his brother lived for two years in Billy's house when their mother kicked them out because they did'nt go to college and spent the money to buy instruments"

I'm deleting it. Every book or magazine article I have read Benji and Joel always claim that their mother was always very supportive of their music career. And they voluntarily moved to Annapolis to start their music career. This could not be farther from the truth. --Jennie Ambrose 03:58, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Should this article be protected?

Good Charlotte is one of those bands that has a lot of fans but also just as many detractors. Judging from what I've read on the discussion page, it seems like there are a lot of people, fans and haters alike, that have been putting idiotic comments, or at least comments which are unprofessional at best, on Joel's Wikipedia entry.

I just deleted a couple of sentences in the "Music Career" section that were put up by a vandal:

Although he and his twin brother have no musical talent, they decided to start a band after attending a Beastie Boys concert at the age of 16. ..... Unfortunately the Good Charlotte lost many fans due to the band sucking.

For what it's worth, I don't like Good Charlotte. In fact, I probably dislike them just as much as whoever wrote those sentences that I deleted. But I also believe in maintaining the integrity of Wikipedia, and comments like the ones above are just unprofessional and don't belong on an encyclopedic entry, whether I personally agree with them or not.

[edit] Valley of the Damned?

From what I am hearing Joel filmed Valley of "The Damned" last summer, but there is no mention of it in the article (there use to be though!). Is he still suppose to be in the movie? If he is I think it definitely needs to be mentioned in the article. --Jennie Ambrose 19:24, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Religion

I remember reading an interview with Joel where he says something about one of his favorite things about Christmas is attending midnight mass at a Catholic church, even though he and his family or not Catholic. I don't remember where I read this, but I do know I read it. Until someone can present confirmation he is indeed Roman Catholic, I have erased the statement saying he is Roman Catholic. Spuddy 17 02:02, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Captioned Image

Hey Guys, I recently uploaded the captioned picture of Joel. If anyone has any more pictures, please add...It would definitely improve the article. §†SupaSoldier†§ 23:16, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the Untagged tag on the image, because it is irreplaceable. §†SupaSoldier†§ WaSsUp 18:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] His and Richie's Child

It says that they're expecting a baby boy, but the statement's uncited. This is the first time I've seen/heard anything about the baby's gender. Also noteably uncited: the stuff about a November wedding. Anybody heard about any of this? 216.12.106.27 06:43, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

This is true, it should be changed. There are a lot of interviews where Joel confirms they do not know what they're expecting and will not find out.--Jmaddlove 22:06, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrote article pretty much

I pretty much rewrote the entire article using information I have read in the issue of Rolling Stone magazine with Good Charlotte on the cover. It came out in 2003. As soon as I can find the proper citation for it I will add it to everything I wrote, or if someone else can find it before me, I would appreciate it if you could add it. Please do not delete anything for at least a week.Spuddy 17 19:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
