[edit] Governor or Acting Governor

I changed the phrase "acting Governor" to just "Governor." Joe was not just a substitute, but the real governor of Arkansas for those few days.

Yes, that's correct. He has a portrait in the Arkansas Capitol that is hanging with the portraits of all the other former governors. larryyoko —Preceding unsigned comment added by Larryyoko (talkcontribs) 15:18, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I've reversed that change. Arkansas doesn't count Purcell (or Bob C. Riley, as Governors). If it did?, Mike Beebe would be the 47th Governor (not the 45th). GoodDay (talk) 19:03, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I repeat - Joe Purcell was not the acting governor, but the sworn in governor of the state of Arkansas. Pryor resigned. He didn't just leave the state for a few days. Joe was inaugurated. He has a portrait hanging in the State Capitol with his dates of service as Governor. I live less than a mile from the Capitol. Frankly, though, I think this is a silly argument and the man from Canada can have the last edit if he wants it. What number of Governor was he? GoodDay (talk) 22:25, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
