Joe Frank (politician)

Joe S. Frank is the current mayor of Newport News, Virginia. He was born November 14, 1942 in Newport News. He is a lawyer by trade, and has been mayor since July 1, 1996. His present term expires June 30, 2010. He was re-elected in May 1998, 2002, and 2006. He is the first directly-elected mayor in the history of the City. Since he took office, he has been credited with the creation of approximately 9,000 new jobs in the city.
