No longer my mentor

Hi JodyB. It has been quite a while since we've conversed. I want to thank you again for all your kind advice six months or so ago, when you "adopted" me.

It has been a smooth six months for me here on Wikipedia, for the most part, until this month. Unfortunately, MastCell has found me again.  :-(

I see that you are no longer listed as my mentor, and that you "can't coach due to RL schedule." Would you care to recommend someone else who would be a good source of advice for how to handle this problem?

Thanks! NCdave (talk) 21:41, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

While I am not open to new adoptees, I still consider myself your mentor if that remains agreeable to you. I will look at the link you provided before commenting further. But from this present position of my ignorance of the link, let me just suggest that at the very least, it takes two. Just keep yourself restrained and you will be fine. But I will look at the link. -JodyB talk 15:29, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! Yes, it is definitely agreeable to me.
Is there a difference between a "mentor" and a "coach?" After being told that I no longer have a mentor, on the basis of Admin_coaching/Status, I edited that page to list myself as your former student. Was that a goof? NCdave (talk) 12:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC) & 09:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Changing subjects... I need some advice.

Have you ever heard of a 3RR report not being ruled on, at all, in a case of a completely deliberate and blatant violation? I warned a user, IronAngelAlice (a/k/a Bremskraft), on her talk page, that she had just done 3 reverts (all were full reverts, done by clicking "undo"). Her reply (five minutes later) was "...Please stop spamming my talk page." One minute later she defiantly did revert #4, followed over the next hour by many additional reverts (including blanking a great deal of good material). So I reported it on the 3RR noticeboard (only the 2nd such report I've ever made).

The admin result was... nothing. So I added to the report more details and diffs of the violating reverts. Still no response. Now an administrator has archived the report. Does 3RR only apply to some editors, and not other?

This editor has ruined multiple articles, with very blatant POV-pushing and edit warring. Her IronAngelAlice ID was blocked for a week in October, her previous Bremskraft ID was indefinitely blocked, and her Ladeda76 & RebelAcademics sockpuppets were indefinitely blocked, too.

Yet she apparently can violate 3RR and NPOV with impunity. She's made it impossible to do constructive work on the articles she's trashed.

I've asked the admin who archived the thread to un-archive it, and called it to the attention of two other admins who've dealt with Bremskraft/IronAngelAlice in the past.[1][2] Was that the right next step?

What else can I do? NCdave (talk) 12:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:18, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Not a problem. It was experimented with in the early days of the project. Since I am the only one to have used it, I have deleted myself. -JodyB talk 18:11, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Why did you delete the entry on the Blyth Valley Team Ministry last year? Fr Edward Rennard - edwardrmail-libra@yahoo.co.uk —Preceding unsigned comment added by VulpesAtratus (talkcontribs) 00:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

I am looking to be adopted. I currently have a few questions: how do you upload pictures, and how to you request block someone or an ip for vandalism? I have made a few edits and I have been warning a lot of vandals because I keep stumbling upon pages that are getting vandalized. I try to use those pages that are supposed to give you information on how to do things, but the pages on blocking people and uploading pics are hard to navagate for me.
