Oxford DNB says she obtained her MBE in 1945 not 1946, so I'll amend that

The award of MBEs are listed in the London Gazette and Hughes's was in Supplement Six dated 9 January 1946. If your read the first page of the supplement the King signed the order on the 1st January 1946.[1] MilborneOne (talk) 16:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
