Ground Rules for the game "Categories"

1. Although a small (both in number and stature) segment of the population consider "Little Christmas" a holiday, for the purposes of Categories, it is not considered an official holiday suitable for submission under the "Holidays" category pursuant to Categories Rule Book Section 534 Subsection B part II. Neither is "Administrative Worker Day" for that matter.

2. San Juan is not a world capital. C.R.B. Section 324(d)(3).

3. "Sephora Products" is not an acceptable category. C.R.B. Section (Obvi).

Odd U.S. Laws:

1. The Commonwealth of Virginia passed the "Fluid Ounces Reduction Act of 1782" in an effort to deflate the price of British Tea Imports from the East India Trading Company. The FOR Act reduced the number of fluid ounces in a gallon from 128 to 64. FORA has never been repealed, however all but a few counties in Virginia have passed separate legislation to return the measurement to 128 OZ in order to comply with the rest of the country. One such region that has not passed separate legislation can be found at exit 37B of I-95 approx. 38 miles from Tappahanock (there is a Taco Bell and soon-to-be Chik-Fil-A). Any assertion that 128 FL OZ is one gallon in this location is just flat out wrong and should not be tolerated. In fact, the county imposes a fine of 50 shillings and 20 lashes with a wet noodle for violations.

2. Kitty Hawk, NC has a little known, seemingly arbitrary, law that states "anyone who is seen dragged into the ocean with their heals dug into the sand by another person shall be deemed 'thrown into the ocean' by said person."

3. Tucson, AZ passed the "Ethnicity Clarification Act" in 1984 which declared that Tori Shinohara is not, legally, considered Irish and may not claim that St. Patrick's Day is "her holiday." In addition, said individual can claim no more than two ethnicities. In footnote 5, it also clarified that Tori Shinohara is "high maintenance (AKA HM)."

4. Washington, DC enacted the "Promiscuity Prudence Act" in 1922 in an effort to curtail the extra-marital infidelities of politicians within the District. In Section 7 of the PPA, it states any social engagement, between two individuals, with the possibility of romance in the District of Columbia shall constitute a "date." From that point forth, the two will be labeled as "dating," and denial of this fact shall result in federal prosecution.
