JM Dodds

John Mathieson Dodds was a Scottish electrical engineer. He was educated at the University of Aberdeen, MA, BSc(Eng.) and the Technische Hochschule, Aachen, Dr Ing., in the 1930s.
He worked in the Research Dept of Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co. in Trafford Park, Manchester, developing high-power thermionic valves, used in the transmitter part of equipment for radar stations for defence (CH system), thereby making a significant contribution to Britain's survival in WWII. He was awarded the OBE.
