I live in Victoria, Australia. I am a high school teacher mainly specialising in IT and the Sciences. I started using Wikipedia way back in 2001 or 2002 when it was still pretty new. I created this account in 2005, but only started contributing in May 2006.
Some of my photos were attached to articles for quite a while before I started contributing, and I have added many more since. My original photos were taken using a Canon PowerShot A95, with four being promoted as Featured Pictures.
Early in 2007 I bought a Canon EOS 400D DSLR to move onto the next level in photography. It came with the kit Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens which I stuck with for a while, before later adding some higher quality lenses. See my entry here for more details. I've uploaded many photos from this camera now, with nine having been promoted as Featured Pictures.
Apart from the photos I help out with contributions where I can. I know bits and pieces about lots of things and am pretty good at finding information and picking up errors in articles. I am also pretty good with tidying up bad grammar and spelling, and improving layouts. So I pop up here and there looking to improve things in general.
