Talk:Jingle Bell Rock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ASCAP lists the writers of the song as BEAL, JOSEPH CARLETON, and BOOTHE, JAMES ROSS. However, I have received anecdotal information to the effect that Charles "Peanut" Faircloth, a disc jockey and announcer in Macon and Augusta, GA and Chattanooga, TN in the late 1940s to the 1950s, wrote or co-wrote the song. If anyone can verify this, would you please update the article? In any case, someone might consider mentioning those two names from ASCAP in the article.
I don't know if it applies here, but I've seen in documentaries that in the 50s one common form of payola was to give a radio DJ co-writer's credit to encourage him to play the song on his show Hew (talk) 09:22, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
