Jimmy Manning

James H. Manning (January 31, 1862 - October 22, 1929) was an American outfielder in Major League Baseball for the Boston Beaneaters, Detroit Wolverines, and Kansas City Cowboys. He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts. After retiring from playing baseball, he was hired as the first manager of the newly-formed Washington Senators in 1901, but he resigned after only one season in which the Senators went 61-73. He never managed again, and died at age 67 in Edinburg, Texas.
