Jim Brighters

Jim "Jimbo" Brighters (born 22 June 1976) is an American columnist, golf writer and humorist.
He has served as golf editor at The Sports Network[1] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, since 2001 and as a columnist for Metro newspapers[2] since 2005. His bi-weekly golf column, "Out of the Rough,"[3] draws heavily on the style of ESPN.com's The Sports Guy, Bill Simmons, and always ends with the a "Random Thoughts" section -- sardonic comments aimed at, among other things, afternoon soap operas, TV dramas and award shows. A January 2, 2007, "Random Thoughts" took to task Listerine's "Do Not Give To Children Under 12" warning.[4] Brighters' sports column for Metro Philadelphia, "Media Musings," appears every Tuesday.

Brighters was educated at LaSalle College High School and La Salle University in Philadelphia. He studied communication while in college.
