Coming from a musical family in Paisley, Jackson started playing guitar at the age of nine and wrote her first song at eleven. By the age of fifteen she was performing professionally with a country band. Attended Gleniffer High School was in the same year as David Sneddon winner of Fame Academy.

In 2003, Jackson attracted wider interest as lead vocalist of the Scottish pop-rock group Speedway, which she had formed with Jim Duguid when she was twenty. Although well-received by the British press[1], Speedway had limited chart success, and split up in 2004.

Jackson then wrote the material for an acoustic solo album, and toured with it in support of Nashville singer-songwriter Kevin Montgomery.

In late 2006 Jackson released her first solo album, and has continued to perform across the UK as a solo artist. Two tracks from her album were covered by Melanie C, in her album "This Time".
