Jill Angela Henrietta Balcon (born 3 January 1925) is an English film actress. She made her film debut in Nicholas Nickleby (1947). Over the years she has appeared regularly, though not extensively, on screen.
The daughter of Michael Balcon and Aileen Freda Leatherman, she was born in London of Baltic Jewish descent,[1] and educated at Roedean. In 1951, she married the Irish poet Cecil Day-Lewis. They had two children: Oscar winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis and documentary filmmaker Tamasin Day-Lewis.
