Jia Chen

Dr. Jia Chen is a researcher in Nanoscale Science and Technology at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New York. She received her B. S. from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, and her Ph.D in physics from Yale university. She was recognized as one of the top technology innovators under the age of 35 by MIT Technology Review Magazine in 2005. In 2006 she was honored as Best of the Small Tech Researcher of the year by the Small Times magazine, recognized as one of the top 15 innovators of Nano50 by Nanotech Briefs, inducted as a Fellow of the World Technology Network, and named one of the top eighty bright young engineers by the National Academy of Engineering. Her recent research focuses on carbon nanotubes and nanoscaled materials-based electronic and optoelectronic devices and technologies. She holds several US and foreign patents.
