Hello, happy taxpayers editors! I discovered Wikipedia in 2004 and started contributing in 2005. Whether I lean towards eventualism or immediatism depends entirely on the subject matter at hand.

'मेत्ता -- Boldly spread Mettā !

[edit] My goals

  • Overhaul H2G2 quotes
  • Boldly rewrite the article on Paul Otlet
    • Improve style following large additions by 128.174.155.55 (whom I couldn't reach)
    • Give it more visibility from the rest of Wikipedia
  • √ Contribute what I know about NeXT
  • Contribute what I know about early WWW history
    • Improve the main World Wide Web article
    • Create an article on Ben Segal
    • Create an article on Børre Ludvigsen and his Home on the Web
  • √ Create an article on Alistair Cockburn (well, someone else did)
  • Expand the article on Edward Tufte and create specific articles about the VDQI and further works. Note reference to Hypnerotomachia Poliphili
  • √ Rewrite and fact-check epoch date epoch (reference date), √ clarify the meanings of epoch
  • Untangle the mess around notions of time measurement, e.g.:
    • Create an informative Timekeeping article, which currently redirects to Time
    • Unite lists of calendars from sections of calendar era, common era and friends
    • Draw a map of related pages and attempt refactoring
  • Document Europe's first public electric lighting in La Roche sur Foron -- see Thomas Edison and Roselle, New Jersey
  • Improve music entries:
    • Find or start a project to contribute sources of classical music fallen out of copyright (e.g. my 1894-1903 edition of Beethoven's sonatas)
    • Define a format to quote music excerpts (markup, Midi, Barfly?) to be human-readable and machine-playable with indexing capabilities -- there must be an existing project for this!
    • Start quoting from popular songs and explain how to do it (note how this differs from music samples)
    • Find or define an opus box template including composer, date, tonality, instruments, catalog number, notable recordings, etc.
  • √ Update and clean up links to British overseas territories
  • Create a generic description of overseas territory from List of dependent territories and relevant national pages such as British overseas territories, U.S. insular areas and French overseas departments and territories
  • Write a summary article on transalpine tunnels
    • Contribute details on the Swiss rolling highway project AlpTransit
    • Expand history of major tunnels
    • Create a global map
    • √ Expand article on Germain Sommeiller
  • Musicians to watch: Prince, Franz Ferdinand, Björk
