[edit] Reliable?

There's some information in this article that needs stronger sourcing. Jethro New's military record as given in the article apparently comes from either family tradition or amateur genealogy, which are both prone to error. One source says that he served in the 2nd Delaware Regiment of the Continental Army, but there was only one Delaware Continental Regiment. That's a minor detail. More importantly, the claims that he served as an aid to General Washington at Valley Forge, was at Cowpens and Yorktown, and witnessed Andre's execution, sound almost too good to be true. It could all could be true, but better sources are needed. He was certainly not an official aide-de-camp to Washington—the list of those have been published.
