[edit] Fictional character biography
The only successful one in the West family, but that doesn't stop him from being a criminal.
In his high school years he had a sexual relationship with his teacher when he was 15 their relationship continued up until he met Tracy Hong and after he had graduated from law school. His younger sister Loretta took photos of the event and blackmailed the teacher to cover for her never going to school again. After Jethro almost finds them after searching the house she hides them at Grandpa's. When Jethro demands the photos he realises she doesn't have them anymore, they burnt down with Grandpa's unit.
Jethro's first job in series 1 was a complete lie, he paid Loretta to show up in a t-shirt with the Maori flag on it and to ask his boss when they were going to let him work for the good of the 'tangata whenua' in an accent. When he was being interviewed he mentioned his 'iwi', the boss become uncomfortable and asked whether he was Maori and he replied he was half, to get the job to show that the company had good race relations.
In season 2 it is revealed that he had sex with Aurora back at their Jethro and Van's 16th birthday party when Aurora had thought it was Van she was having sex with and Van had thought that she decided to hook up with Jethro instead of him, which led to her dropping out of school and living with the gang 'The Horsemen'. After Van manages to tell her about the misunderstanding she falls for him and Van rescues her from the biker fortress.
Jethro appears to be breaking the family chain by becoming a lawyer instead of a criminal, and as a result, he is not often accepted by his family for ideas. But in a season 2 episode, he states that he became a lawyer "to find a way to break the law better than them" (his predecessors including father Wolf).
