Jesse Peretz

Jesse Peretz (born 1968) is an American bass player and Grammy Award winning (for the Foo Fighters' "Learn to Fly" video) director. He played bass for Boston rock band The Lemonheads. He got his start as a director by shooting videos for the his band's songs "Mrs. Robinson", "Confetti" and "It's a Shame about Ray". He went on to direct videos for bands Foo Fighters, Jack Black and The Breeders, as well as creating and co-directing the highly successful "Jimmy the Cab-Driver" comedy vignettes for MTV with his friends from Harvard, Donal Logue and Clay Tarver. Peretz also directed several commercials including spots for Nike, Ikea and Sony PlayStation. In 1998, he directed a feature film called First Love, Last Rites and has directed three other films since then. He is the son of publisher Martin Peretz.
