[edit] FBK Titles
Did you just self appoint yourself to be in charge of the titles? Yes, I know that that was redundant. Oh, and by the way, Poodle Noodle? WTF? Nick 02:15, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:18balls.jpg
You removed Image:18balls.jpg from two pages saying that it was obviously fake. It's not obviously fake to me. Perhaps you could explain what makes you think it is fake. Qutezuce 06:09, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I think that image is fake because of several factors:
- The paralax from the balls in the front and the balls in back seems to great i.e. the balls int he back seem too small
- The blurring seems highly exaggerated and does not fade but rathr starts as a curve
- The lower balls lack shadows, and higher balls have shadows that suggest a flash placed quite far to the upper right of the camera.
- The pattern of ball placement does not match any logical assortment, nor does the apparent paths of the balls. Check out Bounce Juggling World Records to see what I mean.
- The location does ot seem to be the same as that where all records were set. One might note that since this pair can only juggle 18 balls for about 5 seconds, then donig it randomly or indeed in a bouncy hallway as shown here does not make sense.
If I am wrong or I am missing somthing, please let me know. But if this is indeed a fake picture and there is no verification that it is real, I do not believe it belongs here. Jeremy 01:08, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
That picture is real. They are well-known and respected jugglers (not to mention there are videos of this). Please put the picture back and be less quick to judge in the future. Visit Bounce Juggling World Records. Jason Quinn 16:08, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
I have watched the videos and have no doubt that this feat has been accomplished, it is simply the validity of this particular picure that I doubt (see above). If you can show me another reputable source that has this photo, I would be more than happy to put it back. Jeremy 01:08, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- So you are suggesting that the two jugglers pictured were in fact at the location pictured and they were in fact bounce juggling some number of balls, but that it would make no sense for them to attempt 18 balls there? If they were there juggling, with a photographer, why wouldn't they make an 18 ball attempt?
- It doesn't make much sense for someone to photoshop up an image to make it look like they are trying 18 balls when they could just take a legimate image of them doing 18 balls, or they could just take an picture of them doing the completely unimpressive feat of 14 balls and not modify it.
- Regarding the uneven bluring, that is probably be the result of a second-curtain sync flash. See here for an example image taken with second-curtain sync flash.
- Regarding the shadows, the floor is shiny, so it reflects light, the door are less shiny, so they don't reflect as much light, so shadows on the floor are going to be more faint then shadows on the doors.
- Regarding ball placement, try pausing their 18 ball video a few times, it shouldn't take more than a few pauses to get a ball placement which looks random like in the picture.
- The Bounce Dicks include the image right on the front page of their website and there is a larger version in the gallery of www.bouncepage.com (which I think they also run) at http://www.bouncepage.com/gallery.html. Qutezuce 07:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's all I needed to see.Jeremy 14:03, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
