Talk:Jenny Galt
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Aug. 16 / 06:
Added some further information (on music studies at Carleton), obtained directly from Jenny Galt.
Note re spelling in the article: The song which Jenny sang in the elimination round is spelled here as "Vasoline", following the spelling used in the official web site of the Stone Temple Pilots, who originated the song.
[edit] Images Marked for Deletion
I have no idea why the images in this article are marked for deletion. I can only assume it is for presumed copyright problems.
All of the images except the first one at the upper left of the article are from Jenny Galt's MySpace pages. The one of Yellow Light is from the Yellow Light MySpace page, which previously existed but which is no longer on MySpace, The other two are from earlier versions of MySpace pages for Jenny Galt herself. (Pages change frequently on MySpace.)
The key point to keep in mind here is that Jenny Galt is OK with these images being used in the article. I sent her the article so that she could verify the accuracy of the information in it and provide some further information to fill in a couple of gaps (e.g., her music studies at Carleton).
I can substantiate these points in writing, since I still have MySpace messages from her. If necessary, I can obtain specific written permission from her to continue using these images - or better yet, I can probably get some new images (or permission to use some new images) under a Creative Commons licence.
I don't know what else to do about images marked for deletion other than to leave a message here. I tried to figure out the procedure, but I don't really understand it at this point.

- The issue is that none of the images has a fair-use rationale associated with them. If you click on the pictures you will be taken to the image pages where you can find more detail about what is required. Please note however, that it is difficult to write a fair-use rationale for a public figure who can be easily photographed and have a free image produced instead. As we are trying to make a free encyclopedia, there are issues which preclude the use of "right to use only on Wikipedia" images, so if the images could be released under the GFDL or if new images could be produced for that purpose, that would probably be best. --After Midnight 0001 05:22, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
