[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Jeff McDonough, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read the simplified ruleset. If you need help, feel free to use any of Wikipedia's hundreds of resources. I personally recommend the Wikipedia:Boot Camp, where in addition to standard posts, you can use an IRC to chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help! In addition, Wikipedia also has pages dedicated to the use of Wikipedia, for example, if you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages visit the manual of style. Feel free to post questions on my talk page - I'm happy to help you with anything you need.

Additional tips

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using four tildes (~). If your keyboard doesn't have tildes (or for whatever reason) you can also click the Image:Wikisigbutton.png button on the bar above the editing section.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.

Good luck. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danielfolsom (talkcontribs)

Current tasks

Here are some tasks you can do:

[edit] Jason Fransz

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Jason Fransz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

In general, career minor league baseball are not notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia. If and when Fransz makes it to the Majors, he will qualify for an article. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message. Also, you may want to check out WP:BIO for the notability criteria for biographical articles. Cheers, Caknuck 15:48, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
