[edit] Basic Algorithm

This is the basic algorithm of my Wikipedia-Wiktionary Co-op bot:

1. Create a list of words (in alphabetical order) from the Wikipedia articles
2. Check for and delete words that are on the blacklist
3. Check for and delete words that are already in Wiktionary
4. Delete words who's frequency changed significantly from the last update
5. Sort the list based on frequency
6. Present list

This is the algorithm where any user can add or change the algorithm:

1. Create a list of words (in alphabetical order) from the Wikipedia articles
   1. List every word in the article along with the uses
   2. Get the edit-rate for article (edits/time)
   3. Add or update every word on the current article's list on the master list

      If the edit-rate of the current article is greater than the edit-rate of the current word on the master list, replace the summary of word, summary includes:

      1. A copy of the first sentence that used the word in the current article
      2. A link to the article
      3. A link to the specific revision of the article
      4. The edit-rate of the current article
      5. The total uses (i.e. uses in the current article + uses in other articles)

      If the word isn't on the master list, add it, along with the summary, in alphabetical order

2. Check for and delete words that are on the blacklist - blacklist includes words already on the Wiktionary, as well as known misspellings
3. Multiply each frequency from the last update by the average change in frequency to get an estimate of the new frequency
4. Delete words who's frequency changed significantly from each word's estimate
5. Sort the list based on frequency multiplied by the highest edit-rate
6. Present list
