Seeking new allies against the threat of the Yuuzhan Vong, Leia is sent by the New Republic to contact the multisystem Hapan Consortium. As the New Republic leaders on Coruscant argue whether or not to use Centerpoint Station against the Yuuzhan Vong, Han Solo's cousin, Thrackan Sal-Solo, fires Centerpoint's repulsor beam into the Fondor system, destroying three quarters of the Hapan fleet and half of a Yuuzhan Vong flotilla.
