Infobox Chef may be used to summarize information about a Chef.

The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article. All fields are optional. Any unused parameter names can be left blank or omitted.

Please remove any parameters from an article's infobox that are left blank.

Parameter Explanation
name Insert name of Chef. Use the common name, typically the name of the article, or if multiple names are used. If omitted or blank, it defaults to the name of the article. The default background display color for a living Chef is wheat. Note: If the death parameter below is used, it will change the background display color of the Chefs name to silver.
image Insert image name. Use only the file name such as abc.jpg, xyz.png, 123.gif, etc. Do not use syntax such as [[Image:abc.jpg]] or [[Image:abc.jpg|200px]]
caption Insert photograph caption. Try to include date of photo and the photographer.
birthdate Insert the Chefs birth date if known as: month, day, year. Consider using: {{Birth date and age|year of birth|month of birth|day of birth}} for a living person, otherwise use {{Birth date|year of birth|month of birth|day of birth}}.
Note: the parameter name birth_date has been preserved for backward compatibility.
birthplace Insert the Chefs place of birth if known as: town, city, state, country. Note: DO NOT add flag icons to the birthplace. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags).

ratings Insert the ratings given this chef. Consider using {{Rating|X|Y}}, where X is the number of stars given and Y are the out of possible stars. The four major guides are listed below. Mobil rates on a scale of 1 to 3, where 3 is the highest rating. AAA motor club and Mobil rate on a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is the highest rating. The Good Food Guide rates on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest rating. Examples:

restaurants Insert the Chefs current restaurants or current affiliations if known. If unknown leave blank. Please include years. Examples:

prevrests Insert the Chefs previous restaurants or previous affiliations if known. If unknown leave blank. Please include years. Examples:
