[edit] First powered flight???
- This article claims that Le Bris achieved the first powered flight in 1856. However, John Stringfellow demonstrated powered flight using a steam powered model aircraft as early as 1848. See http://www.flyingmachines.org/strng.html.
- It was the first "powered" flight that carried someone. Stringfellow never built an aircraft that carried people. They were just gliders, from what I gather. I think this article needs a little clarification.
- Seconded. PHG 22:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- This aircraft did not carry its powerplant aloft and is thus not powered flight at all. OlaM 22:02, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

- I think what you describe would be an autonomous powered flight, which was accomplished by Clément Ader in 1890.PHG 22:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
