Jean Baptiste Emile Vidal (June 18, 1825 - June 16, 1893) was a French dermatologist who was a native of Paris. He studied medicine in Tours and Paris, and spent much of his professional career associated with the Hôpital Saint-Louis (1867-90) in Paris.

Vidal is primarily remembered for his work with non-syphilitic skin disorders, including his investigations of herpes, lupus and skin lichenification. In 1882 he described pityriasis circinata, which is a localized form of pityriasis rosea that affects the axillae and groin. Also, the historical name for lichen simplex chronicus was referred to as Vidal's disease.
