Jonathan David "JD" Leman was an All-American football player for Wheaton College (Illinois). He graduated in 2001.

Leman was born and raised in Champaign, IL. He enjoyed a stellar prep career at Champaign Central High School where he played linebacker and tight end. During his senior year, he helped lead CHS to a Big 12 Championship. His younger brothers include Minnesota Vikings linebacker J Leman & Eastern Illinois University linebacker Cory Leman.

Leman finished his career with an All-American Senior season at Wheaton in 2000. For his efforts, he was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year. He also helped the Thunder capture a share of the CCIW championship.
