A History of the 15th South Carolina Infantry: 1861-1865 follows the men of the 15th South Carolina Infantry from the time they mustered in for Confederate service during the Fall of 1861 until this fighting regiment was surrendered at Greensboro, NC to General William Tecumseh Sherman in April 1865. With over 600 pages and 150 plus detailed maps and photographs, this book uses primary sources to document the 15th South Carolina as they fought in 20 major Civil War battles across seven states. Included are the personal war records of the 1,442 men who served in the regiment. Readers of this book have front row seats and detailed accounts of the life and death struggles of the men of a fighting infantry regiment from South Carolina serving on the front lines of the American Civil War.
