PICKERING RIBFEST
[edit] First Ribfest of the 2008 Ribfest Season for Canada, Ontario and Durham area!!
This event is being hosted by the joint Rotary Clubs of Ajax and Pickering. A Community Festival and Fundraising Event approved by City of Pickering's Mayor Dave Ryan and his Council on December 17, 2007. Initiative led by Lon Harnish, Past-President and Fundraising Director of the Rotary Club of Ajax.

Professional Ribbers Billy Bones BBQ (Canada) - Greg Brunton and his team will kick off the Canadian Ribfest season with Pickering, Ontario as their first stop on their 2008 competitive Ribfest tour.
Event rich with FOOD, MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT, ARTS/CRAFTS, KIDS CARNIVAL, BEER & WINE TENT and much more.
FESTIVAL HOURS: Friday, June 6 - 4pm to 11pm; Saturday, June 7 - 12pm (noon) to 11pm; Sunday, June 8 - 12pm (noon) to 7pm

Local FOOD BANK DRIVE
At the Main Entrance (Valley Farm Road), volunteers from St.Paul's on the Hill Church (Pickering), and Salvation Army (Ajax) Food Banks will be on hand with a challenge for all of us to help them beat or make/set a record on number of pounds of non-perishable food items collected in a 25 hour period in a spring/summer food drive at a festival type event. The shelves are typically bare at this time of year ... let's show our community spirit and aim to Break the Bank with our overflow of generosity and support.
