Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Pejavara, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.udupipages.com/home/temple/pejavar.html. As a copyright violation, Pejavara appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Pejavara has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Pejavara. [edit] Please stop

Most of your contributions are copyright violations and have been deleted. Persistent violations can also get you blocked from Wikipedia. Read all the links to wikipedia policy listed above and also, feel free to ask any questions on my talk page. --PamriTalk 07:45, 10 December 2005 (UTC) PS - You might also be interested in looking at the.

In regards to the Eminem song lyrics, Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. See Wikipedia:Copyrights. [edit] Warning

I think you need to read WP:CIVIL, personal attacks are not tolerated on Wikipedia. First, the content I deleted in Amjad Farooqi was a copyright violation and stolen from [1]. Secondly, you cannot put a page protected template on an article unless you're an admin who can actually protect a page. Thirdly, song lyrics are NOT allowed on Wikipedia, as they are also copyrighted (and there are NO song lyrics on the Gasolina page, as you like to say). This is your final warning, I could have an admin block you on your comments alone, but I am willing to give you a second chance. Please, use it wisely --Colonel Cow 21:01, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Periyar

Hello Jayant. When editing controversial topics, please cite your sources. You have asserted that Periyar was not an atheist - could you please cite a verifiable source to back it up? Remember that many Buddhists are atheists, as Wikipedia's own article on atheism tells you! Given Periyar's famous "There is no God" quote, I find it hard to see how you could assert that he actually was not an atheist. As such, there is no basis for deleting his categorisation under "Atheist". I would also suggest you try to maintain a civil tone while entering into discussions with other users. Saying that someone "seems to revert all edits" is not a very good way to begin a discussion. -- Arvind 11:13, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello again Jayant. Thank you for your message on my talk page. There are many critiques of Periyar's philosophy and actions, and your most recent edits have taken the article in the right direction - it is important that the criticism against Periyar be adequately represented.
As far as Periyar's attitude to atheism and Buddhism are concerned, I refer you to V. Anaimuthu, Contribution of Periyar E.V.R. to the progress of atheism (Madras: 1980). The book uses Periyar's speeches and writings to argue that he wanted to use Buddhism to promote atheism and remove the Hindu influence from southern Indian society, but not as an end in itself. On his politics, E. Sa. Visswanathan's doctoral dissertation at the ANU The political career of E.V. Ramasami Naicker: a study in the politics of Tamilnadu, 1920-1949 (Madras: 1983) is still the best source.
On Buddhism as an atheistic philosophy, the wikipedia article on atheism begins: "Atheism, in its broadest sense, is an absence of belief in the existence of any deities. That is, all who do not have such a belief—whether they are nontheists, agnostics, or even Buddhists—are covered under this term" - thereby expressly recognising the implicit atheism of Buddhism. -- Arvind 20:57, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Sonali.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonali.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. tregoweth 01:24, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cier.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cier.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. tregoweth 01:26, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your rfa

Hi Jayanth, it appears that your rfa is going to fail. May I suggest that you withdraw for now, work on the feedback given by others, and try again in another six months' time? Best, --Gurubrahma 07:35, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi, you can always become an admin after getting enough experience. Familiarity with copyrights issues, being civil etc. are viewed as highly important for someone to become an admin. That is why, after taking a cursory look at your talkpage, I suggested that you contribute positively for the next six months, and then ask someone else to nominate you. For now, if you wish to withdraw, please mention "I withdraw" along with some reason at the place for acceptance of nominations and sign with four ~'s. Then, someone will remove the nomination from the page. By the way, the right way to place message on some one's talkpage is to do it at the end of the page and not at the beginning of the page as you have done on my talkpage. If you click the "+" button next to "edit this page" link on any talkpage and type out your matter, it would automatically place it at the end of the talkpage. All the best, --Gurubrahma 15:09, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] from jayanthv

I have seen you have left that message to many other users. I can probably respond for all: we are merely saying that you are not ready for being an administrator, not that you did something forbidden. - Liberatore(T) 15:18, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of nosource tagging

You have repeatedly removed nosource tags placed by other editors from images you have uploaded. This is a form of vandalism. In order to verify the copyright status of images, sources must be provided for images uploaded to Wikipedia. If no source is applied, images may be deleted within 7 days after they are uploaded. Copyright is a very important issue to Wikipedia. If you continue to remove nosource tags or conduct other vandalism, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you have questions about this, please feel free to contact me. Thank you. --Durin 15:24, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

  • You have seven days to provide the information. It is not sufficient to supply an address as you did with Image:Cier.jpg saying "www.e-go.gr". I went to that address. The page that displayed did not contain the image. For an example of how it should be done, have a look at an image I uploaded Image:USS Dolphin AGSS-555.jpg, and note the line where I said "Source cropped from [1] at [2]". That way, we can see the original image and the page that it was located on. This gives us the ability to verify the copyright status. In general, images from websites are copyrighted unless the website specifically states the images are not copyrighted, even if the website does not have a copyright statement. If I can help in any other way, please let me know. Thanks. --Durin 15:31, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Hoping to improve your mood...you're not a loser. You're just not wiki-experienced yet. You can get there. I think your heart is in the right place. Just take the advice that is given to you and work with it rather than against it. Don't remove the nosource tags until you've provided a source in the manner I've described above. When you've provided the source information, I'll be happy to review them for copyright status and, if the image is indeed clear of copyright, I'll be happy to work with you to tag the images properly. --Durin 15:47, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unsourced images

Don't worry; I had no plans to block you, I was just letting you know that those images needed more information. tregoweth 15:41, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your RFA

As Liberatore above, no one is saying you are a loser just that you don't have enough experience yet. Being an admin often involves doing a lot of very boring janitorial work (often you see messages about giving people "the mop" on RFA), and it has been said as an admin the reward for a job well done is another two jobs.... Keep contributing to and enjoying wikipedia, once you've been around (and I suggest you visit places like the village pump and other discussions around wikipedia) you'll no doubt have a better idea as to if you actually want/need to be an admin and others will similarly have a broader view of you and if you have the necessary skills to do the admin role well. Remember there is no hierarchy on Wikipedia being an admin isn't a promotion, your input into wikipedia articles and the discussions around wikipedias operations count on their own merit. --pgk(talk) 16:02, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

I just want to agree with the others wh have replied to you. None of us think you are a loser, it's just yoy are new and need some more experience. And you certainly did not waste anybodys time. In fact it will have helped as you got imput from others that will help you later on. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 19:31, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edits at Breast implant

Please do not keep undoing other people's edits without discussing them first. This is considered impolite and unproductive. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you.Pschemp | Talk 17:46, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:Facial22.jpg

An image that you uploaded, Image:Facial22.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

The reason it's a copyright violation is that it's a direct copy of the image. It's not a cropping, reduced image quality, etc. Please see Wikipedia:Fair use. --Durin 17:51, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Same applies to Image:Cier.jpg. --Durin 17:56, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi, you just need to be really sure of its source and copyright status. I found the following pages very useful when determining the status of images I wished to upload: Wikipedia:Copyrights, Wikipedia:Image use policy, Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Remember that there are other types of images that are permitted on Wikipedia, such as public domain, fair use, free license, and user created. I hope to see you around, and happy editing! — TheKMantalk 18:32, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battle of Berlin

I'd reverted your edit [2]. Not judging its validity it doesn't say much specific about the battle and thus it only dilutes content of the article. Please try to keep articles tight and do not expand them into general history. TIA Pavel Vozenilek 22:50, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

IMHO Battle of Berlin should be about battle of Berlin and no overview of the war. Pavel Vozenilek 23:39, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright statements, or lack thereof

(In reference to your comment at Image:Cier.jpg) As I noted above, even if a website does not have a copyright statement, material from the site is not free of copyright. A copyright holder must release their rights; absence of a claim that they have copyrighted their materials is not a release of copyrights. --Durin 14:18, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Derivative works of copyright images are still covered by the copyright. In short, yes it would be copyright infringement. --Durin 22:42, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Indian Cinema

Hullo Jayanth, glad you're with us on this project. Adding the logo is a help -- but, we're putting it at the top of the talk page, not on the article itself. Minor point, not to detract from your effort. Zora 06:10, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rani Mangammal

I had to mark the article as a copyright violation. The entire article was pulled verbatim from the website indicated in the External links section. All articles on Wikipedia must be original work with proper references for verifiability. - Ganeshk (talk) 07:32, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rani Mangammal and your msg. on my talkpage

Hi Jayanth, I have not accused you of copyvio on the above. I was merely telling User:Ganeshk that I was reverting your changes to articles on to which you added {{WikiProject Indian cinema}} when I noticed that you wikified "Rani Mangammal." The history indicated that it was started by anon - If an article is started by an anon and the very first edit has lot of info, it probably means that it is a copyvio - Whenever I come across such an article, I type out a string from the text in both Google and MSN search to see if it is copied from any website (that is not a Wikipedia mirror or a Public domain or a GFDL resource). Since you are relatively new, you probably did not check for copyvio - that is what I was indicating to Ganeshk. As far as the cinema project goes, apart from adding {{WikiProject Indian cinema}} to the relevant talkpages, you can help by improving existing articles and creating new articles, especially related to regional cinema. You may want to read WP:YFA, WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:MoS. As you already know, no copyvios. Also, have a look at WP:5P if you have not done so. For reference purposes, you may want to have a look at articles on people such as Naseeruddin Shah, Nagesh Kukunoor (both of them started by me, but far from perfect) etc. and movies such as Main Hoon Na and Dil Chahta Hai etc. All the best, --Gurubrahma 09:44, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi Jayanth, Thank u for ur interest and contribution in the article. I'll do my best to expand it. -- SivaKumar 14:53, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your message on my talk page

I checked the history too on the Rani Mangammal page. I know you did not start it. I was just letting you know that I have marked the page copyvio since you had put in major effort in it. That is one of things you should watch out for. I contribute to Wikipedia out of interest, it is defenitely not my duty as a tamilian. The article will get deleted in 7 days if no one recreates it from scratch. Thanks for your contributions and hope you would stick around for more. Do let me know if you need help with anything. - Ganeshk (talk) 17:04, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Heads-up

Hi Jayanth, thanks for the heads-up. This was the message I placed on Talk:Battle of Berlin (air) as I am not sure it is copyvio - While I understand that facts cannot be copyrighted, I suspect (based on another editor's message on my talkpage) that this could be a copyvio from [3]. I haven't been able to pin-point the copyvio though. Can some one double check to be sure? Thanks for trying to help; however, the tag you used was a wrong one as the article was started more than 48 hours ago and it is not from a commercial content provider (such as Associated Press etc.). The right way to list copyvios is given on WP:CV. --Gurubrahma 19:26, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cieras.JPG

It is not fair use. The image and those like it are lifted directly off of the website. The material is copyrighted, even though there is no explicit copyright statement. It isn't a screenshot, it isn't a low resolution cropping or anything else that would qualify as fair use or promotional. I would suggest that you allow these images to be deleted and temporarily refrain from uploading further images until you've gained more experience regarding copyright issues. I'd be glad to help you if you have questions. --Durin 21:53, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

It's not a trouble per se; I think the vast majority of us are very happy to help someone who's heart is in the right place, even if you don't have the experience yet. You're learning, and that's the important thing! --Durin 14:45, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Yes! You got that one right. Good job! Also note that when you are putting a link to an image in it should look like this in the editing window: [[:Image:Anna12.jpg]]. Note the colon before "Image". Without the colon, the image is shown. With it, it's just a link to the image. --Durin 17:37, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battle of Berlin (air)

Guess the above page is on your watchlist. btw, according to WP:CV, if it is possible, we should revert the article to a version where it doesn't infringe on any copyvio - I hope you'd have already explored that possibility. Advanced wishes for a pride filled Republic day. --Gurubrahma 17:35, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks from Lulu

Storm clouds ... and silver linings Thank you for your support on my RfA.
Unfortunately, it failed to reach consensus. Nonetheless, it proved an opportunity to establish contacts and cooperation with many supportive editors, which will be beneficial to editing Wikipedia in the future. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters (t @)

Sorry to hear the anticomm/fighterforfreedom vandal has been bothering you too. I just like to greet him/her/it with a bemused smile; like a housecat utterly failing in its murderous intentions towards some birds. All the best, Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 18:51, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Statistics in Bangalore article

Hi Jayanthv86,

Just wanted to make a couple of points. With respect to the areas that you talk about, (i.e., urban areas with high rise buildings as well as slum areas), it is important for us to consider the ethnicities and languages spoken in these areas, no matter how different they are from the "common man", because they represent the population of the city. Please remember, we are not asserting that Kannada is not the most spoken language in the city — it is the most widely spoken langauge in Bangalore and I don't think there should be any doubt in that fact. 38% of the population speaking Kannada represents a virtual majority, considering the cosmopolitan background of Bangalore. Kannada is the state language and therefore the language is also evident in the signs, advertisements and banners around the city.

If you feel you would like to "qualify" the statistic with a phrase perhaps saying that the 38% is a virtual majority given the cosmopolitan nature of the city, please go ahead and add that to the article. That will perhaps put the statistic in perspective for readers not familiar with the city. Thanks! AreJay 21:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
