Jayen varma,World Record Bassist( http://www.recordholdersrepublic.co.uk )created a new World Record as "Fastest Percussive Bassist". His record is 36 percussive notes per second on Bass Guitar. This is declared by Registry of Official World records,UK, http://www.recordholdersrepublic.co.uk He plays Bass Guitar like Indian percussion Instrument TABLA/MRIDANGAM. PERCUSSIVE SLAP BASS PLAYED BY HIM IS AT THE HIGHEST SPEED. His three finger conventional plucking style ranges from 36 to 42 notes per second at times, since it crosses three to four strings, three to four times in one second. Now Globally many Bassists are adapting this slap bass style. He started practicing this Tabla/Mridangam style on Bass Guitar 22years back, He learned Mridangam from Mr.Parassala Ravi, who was the Principal of Government Run Music College in Kerala, India. . HE IS THE FIRST AND ONLY PERSON WHO PLAYS BASS GUITAR LIKE TABLA/MRIDANGAM. IT IS HE WHO INVENTED THIS UNIQUE STYLE OF PLAYING BASS GUITAR ….
He has been practicing this style for the last 22 years despite discouragements from many.
