[edit] Overview

Jayceon Dwayne Beaumont (born May 3rd, 1988),[1] known simply by his first name Jayceon, is an American R&B singer and rapper who rose to fame in early 2008. Born in Brooklyn, NY in the late 80’s Jayceon, was the second child to (jeweler)Everton and (writer)Carol Beaumont. Raised in a old fashion Jamaican household in brooklyn, at the age of 5 the family relocated to Apopka Florida, an urban suburb of Orlando. From an early age Jayceon showed interest in music and poetry, which was nurtured at his local church where he partook in many singing recitals and events. At age 11 Jayceon’s parents divorced; devastated by the split he stopped attending his church, and gave up singing, his largest emotional outlet. Through the next few years Jayceon spent much time writing and developing his abilities in poetry and creative writing. At the age of 15, after 4 years of perfecting his poetry, Jayceon found a new outlet of expression; rap music. His transition from singer to rapper defined a new diverse style of music that mixes both genres of music.

The family decided to relocate to Apopka, FL where they could continue to educate and mold their children and provide a better opportunities for their two kids. As his voice developed at church, his academic prowess also showed at his elementary school, Rocksprings Elementary. He excelled in all subjects, especially math where he represented his county for matheticmatics and strategic planning. At age five he came in second place in the statewide young mind’s competition. Life was without interruption for the next six years we his mind, voice and personality developed into the person his is today. Carol and Everton Beaumont split in 1999 due to irreconciliable differences. Following that event Jayceon lost interest in music and church but still continued to write poetry to express himself. His love of poetry continued for the next for years during which, he studied famous poets, philosophers and writers.
