Jay Ovittore

Jay Ovittore (born May 17, 1973) is a current[1] Democratic Party candidate for U.S. Congress in North Carolina's 6th congressional district.[2] Ovittore, a New Jersey native, moved to North Carolina in 1990.
Ovittore sits on the Human Relations Commission for the City of Greensboro, NC, and is also the President of the Guilford County Young Democrats.
Ovittore began writing a webblog[3] in 2004, which quickly gained local and national attention with posts picked up by The Guardian Online and Media Critic/ NYU Professor Jay Rosen[4]. In Jay’s blog posts, he has covered both national and local issues. Ovittore conducted opposition research for the Brad Miller for Congress campaign in 2004.[5] His investigations resulted in Miller's opponent, Vernon Robinson having to admit his campaign's incompetence to Federal Election laws and repay donations made over the legal limits.
