Java PC

Java PC is a x86 emulator written in Java. It creates a virtual PC compatible machine that can run MSDOS and other x86 operating systems. It was written by the Oxford University Subdepartment of Particle Physics.
Dioscuri is another x86 computer hardware emulator written in Java [1].
