[edit] Poll - How do you spell Akermanis's nickname?

This has been a bone of contention for a while now. So far I've seen "Akker", "Acka", "Akka", "Arka", and "aka". I think we should have a poll to set this is stone.

As 'Aka's' book spells it as 'Aka", I vote "aka". ~=~Scalene~=~

"Akermanis may retire from AFL, after a recent email controversy where Akermanis attacked coach Leigh Matthews. Akermanis, being one of the most disliked players in the AFL, has had a season shrouded in controversy and many AFL supporters won't be disappointed if he did decide to hang up the boots."

If this doesn't breach WP:NPOV, I don't know what would. I'm removing this bias-filled paragraph. Feel free to re-add it if you can provide concrete proof Akermanis is so reviled. QazPlm 12:21, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

By what definition? He's from Mildura, which is in Victoria. Unless, of course, the definition is where one has spent the majority of one's life. Peter1968 14:36, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Should he be categorised under "Croatian Australians"?

His biological father is a Denis Dezdjek, Dezdjek being a Croatian name. Misb 15:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Akermanis is a Latvian name aswell. So Latvian Australian?
