Jason Winderlich (born October 10, 1984) is an Australian rules footballer, currently a young midfielder for Essendon. Since his first round draft in 2002, he has shown only small signs of breaking through at the club. Despite having a small build and lack of natural confidence, he has an effective ability for attacking the play, however his greatest strength is his pace ideal for the modern game.[citation needed] Following a promising show early in the 2006 season, he suffered a season ending leg injury. Later in the year, he placed a credible second in the Grand Final sprint. The 22 year old has been a big improvement in the 2007 season, currently averaging more than 20 disposals a match.
