If this is the edit you're referring to, the reason I made it was to revert a large number of edits made by 75.70.133.186 (talk) (is that you?), the main effect of which was to create numerous links to Britain which is a disambiguation (dab) page, You can find the guideline about linking to dab pages here. At the time, the most practical way of doing that was simply to go back to the last version before the numerous edits made by the IP. In any event, I have no objection to the change you suggest. I also have no objection to using the name "Britain" in the text, so long as the link is "piped" to United Kingdom. You can do that by typing [[United Kingdom|Britain]], [[UK|Britain]] or [[uk|Britain]].

I just took another look at that IP's edits. If that is you, no offense intended, but may I suggest that you watch your spelling and changes to wikimarkup? I'm referring specifically to edits like this, this, this and this.
