I, Jarvis Pickwick, started on Wikipedia today, 28 February 2007. Spookily, my name is reminiscent of a syndrome associated with sleep apnoea [or apnea] called Pickwickian.

I suffer from sleep apnoea, and feel strongly that many more people should be aware of the benefits of treatment for what is a surprisingly common disease. Treatment is not available in the United Kingdom on the National Health Service, at least not for the sort I have, so you might have to get referred to a private doctor. But I would urge anyone who snores loudly, stops breathing at night, wakes with headaches, feels tired all the time, falls asleep during the day, etc, to get it checked out if at all possible. Sleep apnoea can ruin your quality of life and damage your heart and brain. The remedies available, however, may be quite simple and very effective.
