Talk:Japanese American Citizens League

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JACL should direct to a disambiguation page that splits to Japanese American Citizens League, and the TCL/Java page.

"The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) urges you to cooperate with the order that has forced you out of your home. Excluded from membership in the JACL are people like your parents, who were born in Japan, and cannot be citizens at the time." perspective of the JACL from Rabbit in the Moon, the PBS Documentary on Japanese-American internment.

This page is directly from the JACL homepage at http://www.jacl.org/about_history.php and is therefore obviously a one sided view of the organization.

[edit] Counterpoint from Frank Chin

This article is very one-sided. According to Frank Chin, the JACL were FBI collaborators, who assisted in the roundup of community leaders. Additionally, they worked to destroy JA publications that were critical of the government. http://www.chintalks.blogspot.com/ Also, from other sources, I've read that the JACL had internal conflicts over particitpation in the Civil Rights Movement. 76.90.55.77 (talk) 07:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
