Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. (日本郵政株式会社, Nippon Yū-sei Kabushiki-gaisha^?), abbreviated as 日本郵政, or simply called JP is a holding company of Japan Post Group.

• January 23, 2006 - It started as the "plan preparation company (準備企画会社)".
• October 1, 2007 - It started with the division and privatization of Japan Post. The holding company is currently wholly owned by the government but there are plans for it to be privatized over the period from 2009 to 2017. The government will retain a minimum 1/3 stake in the holding company which will own the postal delivery and over-the-counter services firms.
