Japan Network Access Point

The Japan Network Access Point (JPNAP) is an Internet Exchange Point situated in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. JPNAP was established on 2001 and operated by Internet Multifeed Co..

JPNAP is one of the largest Internet Exchange in the world by traffic. JPNAP provides 10GE, GbE, FE interface and also provides Link aggregation. Tokyo site and Osaka site is 500km apart and they are not connected each other. JPNAP network is already IPv4/v6 Dual-stacked, but they also provides IPv6 only IX named JPNAP6.

JPNAP has two distinguishing feature : one is "Automatically switched optical patch panel" and another is "PeerWatcher".

When "Automatically switched optical patch panel" finds IX switch's failure, it switches patch cable to the other IX switch automatically. Even if the patch panel has power problem, it's no effect for the communication except detecting IX switch status.

"PeerWatcher" shows traffic graph between two BGP routers faced on JPNAP network using sFlow.
