[edit] Purple Prose

I would like to congratulate the writer of the text which describes "[Jane Russell] on a haystack glowering with sulking beauty and youthful sensuality as her bosoms push forcefully against her amply filled dress." -- 71.198.189.142 01:29, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aerodynamics

Wasn't there a big publicity campaign about Howard Hughes designing Russell's outlaw bra, or did emerge afterward, as an historical footnote?

Yes, Howard Hughes designed a special brassière for her. He also had to defend the Outlaw against the board who rated motion pictures back then, since the movie was considered obscene. Kamikaze Highlander 16:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Great Actress

A group of us in her hometown are discussing starting a non-profit to celebrate Ms. Russell with a museum and festival! We are all proud to call Bemidji home and Jane our girl!

[edit] "Living Legends are National Treasures"

I enjoyed reading the History of Jane Russell, as well as that of other movie stars. It is my contention that those legendary movie stars that are still with us, are "Living Legends". As such, Americans, and the movie industry should honor them, for their past contribution to the media. In Japan, they are honored as "National Treasures". They should be praised every year. Brought on stage, to honor them. We tend to praise such stars, after death. Why wait for them to die, let's honor them in life!
