According to the archives at Ellis Island, Hugh Reiss spelled his surname REISS. That same spelling was utilized by his wife, Mary, when she was photographed by Arnold Genthe in 1919. Therefore, the family's spelling of the surname appears to be correct; if you have any other comments, please write so this can be worked out. Until then, the surname should be spelled REISS as per official government documents. Mowens35 14:12, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
