Janice Brown is the former superintendent of Kalamazoo Public Schools, in Kalamazoo, MI. Over the past few years, Brown has developed the Kalamazoo Promise, a program funded by anonymous donors, in which all Kalamazoo Public Schools graduates will have their college tuition paid for upon graduation. Brown's program is has resulted in rising housing prices in the area, an increase in commerce in the area, and also a population increase, as families are moving to Kalamazoo to benefit from the program. Brown has helped create an economic boost in Kalamazoo, and also created an increase in the quality of the Kalamazoo Public Schools system.
