Janet Adamson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Janet Laurel Adamson (9 May 1882 – 25 April 1962) was a Labour politician in the United Kingdom.
Janey "Jenny" Adamson was originally elected a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dartford in a by-election in 1938. In the United Kingdom general election, 1945, after boundary changes, Adamson was elected MP for Bexley. She resigned in 1946, precipitating a by-election won by Labour candidate Ashley Bramall. The constituency was subsequently gained (in 1950) by future Prime Minister Edward Heath.
The Labour Party campaign centre and headquarters building in Bexleyheath is named "Jenny Adamson House" in honour of the former MP.
