Charlotte Brontë's novel Jane Eyre (1847) has been the subject of numerous television and film adaptations. This film had its theatrical debut in the United Kingdom in 1970. It was released on television in the United States in 1971. The haunting, award-winning score was composed by renowned composer John Williams.
