I find this wikipedia absolutely amazing. The ability to create, edit and remove content from any page is an amazing system that allows communities to work together to produce a fast, detailed encyclopedi .. but not without it's flaws. What I do NOT understand is why the wikipedia allows editing of any page. For example, I can edit anybodies profile. If it says "I live in sydney", I can modify it to "I live in a box".
The wikipedia is a vandals paradise.
So what can the admins do to keep vandels out. As far as I am aware, they can ban accounts and users by IP address. What's stopping users from using proxies and changing their IP address. Is it possible to LOCK down a page so nobody can edit your work? Surely this also consumes vast amounts of time for the administrators, always on the lookout for vandalism.
