James Jr., born Fort Meade Maryland, just blocks from NSA National Security Agency, where his father worked on post in the field as a Cryptanalyst.
Since his earliest memories of childhood, Jim has had the opportunity to experience the developing fields of information technology, when his family's house in Maryland was wired and directly connected to the ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency Network) the Internet predecessor we now see today. The ARPANET research project started in 1969 for Los Alamos National Laboratory and the NSA.

[1] The first is a software/hardware TOC (Total Organic Carbon) analyzer using windows with real-time embedded devices. The project was developed in cooperation with NASA, tested successfully on the Atlantis/Mir space shuttle mission, and is still installed on the International Space Station analyzing the shuttle astronauts drinking water systems. [2] The second was a research software/hardware NOA (Nitric Oxide Analyzer) developed in cooperation with various American and Russian research universities. After gathering data from the analyzer, the scientists were able to discover findings detailed in the winning of the 1998 Nobel Peace Prize in Medicine. [[2]]
