His wife was born in 1794; and all three of his sons died in infancy (So the Complete Peerage. It is likely that it was known he would have no heirs. (The ODNB adds that he was unable to take his for gout, and this permitted the opposition to organize.) Septentrionalis 02:52, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
